Upgrade Information

Compatibility

The new version of the software will automatically open and work with your older version 8 or version 7 macro files. Once the older version macro file is open in the new version it is automatically converted to a newer format. This newer format macro file cannot be open in older version of the software. The software is automatically creating backup copies of the older versions of the macro files, however, it is always a good practice to make a backup copy of your macro files before installing new version.

Free Upgrade

Upgrade is free of charge:

  1. for customers who have previously bought any 9.a.b version
  2. for customers who bought a Macro Toolworks Professional version 8.x.y or Perfect Keyboard Professional version 8.x.y at July 14th, 2018 or later. Please e-mail us for the information how to proceed with the free upgrade.

Standard Edition Discontinued

The Macro Toolworks Standard Edition and Perfect Keyboard Standard Edition is no longer available starting version 9. The users can either upgrade to the Professional version (see upgrade options table below) or stay with the version 8 which is still available for download (at the bottom of the download page). Please refer refer to new features and full set of commands in Professional editions.
